Fields: Configure Detail Display Field Properties
Configure Detail Display Field Properties lets you configure the name of the search field and any translations of the name in the languages on the system.
|
Those fields marked with an asterisk ( * ) are required. If you do not enter information for a field that is required, the software prompts you that the information is missing. |
|
When you configure fields for a detail display, you must refresh the Discovery administrator database metadata cache in the Discovery server application. When you make any change to the detail display, the changes will not be reflected to the patron in Searching until the metadata cache is refreshed. (For more information, see Refreshing the search cache. |

Detail Display Name
Displays the name of the detail display for which you are configuring search field properties.
Search Field
Specifies the system name of the search field (up to 80 characters) for the specified language. This name is used on Detail Displays and on other pages in the Admin console that display the search field name.
This name is also displayed as the label for the search field data on the detail display. For example, if you choose “Title” as the name of the search field, Portfolio will display “Title” as the label for the title information in the detail display.
For this field, you can also specify an alternate name for a specific language. Choose the language from the drop-down list of supported languages in the Admin console, then enter the localized name in the field.
Note: If your web browser is configured to use a display language that is not supported by Portfolio and you have chosen to display the Admin console in a language other than the default language (en_US), the language that displays in the drop-down list of supported languages defaults to US English.
If a localized name already exists for a specific language, the software displays that language name differently in the drop-down list. When you enter a localized name for a specific language, the language name appears with a “++” suffix. If you clear the localized name for a specific language, the software displays the language name without the different formatting.
